Hello.

I am a new member, and a devoted Tweaker fan. I saw them live with Skinny Puppy at The Electric Factory in Philedalphia, and fell in love twice over, being that I had recently purchased 2 a.m Wake Up Call.

I just wanted to express my love for Tweaker.

It is nice to be among others who may have the same tastes in such wonderful music.

^_^

And that's all really.

I am not a newbe to Tweaker, I have liked tweaker since TATATU and 2:am wakeup call has not left my home cd player since it came out. I was happy to hear that he was going on tour with MM but the negative side is that his website has not been updated. I can't wait until area 51 comes out and since the doom 3 theme is so awsome i am sure area 51's music will be too.

I discovered 2amWC and TATATU a while ago and really like them both. I'd say that "Worse than yesterday" is my favorite track of them all, it's the sort of track I wish I'd written. If I was looking for similar tracks/styles, what artists/albums would you recommend I check out?

I love this album - 2a.m. wake up call - by tweaker. It's an album in the truest sense - while the individual pieces are great on their own, the album makes so much sense, means so much more when you listen to it from start to finish. I turned off all the lights in my almost black room last night, lit some candles and opium incense, and just zoned out to the music. I figured I'd just lay there and do nothing but I had great ideas for videos and other arty things. So I wrote them down after I'd listened to the album once over without interruption. It's so - argh, there is no word for it. Great is too pitiful a word, and awesome is just too juvenile. It's perfect, this album. Absolutely perfect.

SKINNY PUPPY TAPS TWEAKER FOR UPCOMING TOUR

In what is shaping up to be one of the more dynamic North American tours of the summer, Skinny Puppy has handpicked Tweaker for its first tour in almost a decade.

Both artists are on the road supporting new albums. Tweaker just released 2 a.m. Wakeup Call (Waxploitation / iMUSIC), the highly anticipated follow-up to The Attraction To All Things Uncertain. On May 24th, Skinny Puppy will release The Greater Wrong of the Right, their first studio album since 1996.

Tweaker is the alter-ego project of Chris Vrenna, a Grammy award-winning artist and founding member of Nine Inch Nails and record producer/remixer/collaborator for a ‘who’s who’ of artists including U2, Weezer, David Bowie, Smashing Pumpkins and Marilyn Manson amongst many others.

The tour begins June 11th in Portland, Oregon and will be a full circle of sorts for Tweaker. "Our first tour ever as NIN was opening for Skinny Puppy on their Vivisect Six tour,” says Chris Vrenna. “Seeing that this will be Tweaker's first tour as well, it's a huge honor that Skinny Puppy has asked us to be its opener.”

2 a.m wakeup call was produced and composed by Vrenna and collaborator Clint Walsh and features guests including Robert Smith (The Cure), David Sylvian, Will Oldham, Jennifer Charles (Elysian Fields), Hamilton Leithauser (The Walkmen), Mellowdrone and Johnny Marr (The Smiths). The album has already received critical acclaim from a diverse group of publications including:

Entertainment Weekly --“Call it Eternal Darkness of the Spotted Mind.”

Rolling Stone.com -- “Tweaker's disquieting lullabies are uneasy listening at its finest.”

Alternative Press -- “…Emotionally resonant performances."

Wall Street Journal -- “A poignant, menacing piece of modern experimentation.”

Tweaker’s debut tour will feature Vrenna on drums and loops, Walsh on guitar and keyboards, Kevin Kipnis (Purr Machine) on treble bass and sound designer William Faith (Faith and the Muse) on standard bass. "I'm excited to finally get to play these songs live," says Walsh. "We worked long and hard on this record - and it's a record we're really proud of - so we can't wait to take it to the stage."

Tour dates are as follows:

Fanatic For The Cure
by Julia Rubiner

Everyone knows that Cure fans are freaks. Their adoration of frontman Robert Smith, in particular, approaches religious zealotry. Chris Vrenna is one of these acolytes. The founding drummer and programmer for Nine Inch Nails, Vrenna is currently exerting his sonic energies as the leader of tweaker, a highly respected hotbed of creative collaboration. He will realize a sort of personal apotheosis when tweaker's new album, 2:00 A.M. Wakeup Call, is released in April: It features a revelatory contribution from none other than Robert Smith, on the track "Truth Is." Wow, I guess I can die now, Vrenna thought when Smith said he wanted to participate in the project. And this from a guy who, as a producer/remixer/engineer and/or programmer has worked with U2, David Bowie, Weezer, Green Day, Marilyn Manson, Smashing Pumpkins, Rob Zombie, P.O.D. and Hole, among others. Following are the reflections of a lifelong Cure fanatic.
